Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to your most frequently asked questions
Why should I order from The Dock Doctors® instead of my local dock dealer?
Our product prices are very competitive providing shipping from our manufacturing facility in Vermont. Most of our competitors’ products are manufactured and shipped from the Midwest requiring trucking to the Northeast.
How far in advance should I plan my project?
Our stock products are typically available for pick up within 1-2 days, or can be delivered within a 1–3 week time frame. Custom projects should be planned well in advance. Time frames are affected by several factors such as product demand, permitting, manufacturing, service, and weather conditions.
What if I need the product installed?
Stock installations typically have a 2–4 week lead time depending on weather, order backlog, and if the installation requires the use of our work boat. We have a staff of approximately (40) employees year round and are equipped to cover the entire Northeast with our products and services.
How do I get an estimate or proposal?
We often can provide an estimate based on the information obtained from our site questionnaire. A final proposal is prepared once a site visit is performed to confirm the necessary details.
Do you provide site visits?
In most cases we try to provide a preliminary cost estimate prior to visiting your site. However, there are situations that require a site visit in order to determine your needs prior to providing an estimate or proposal.
Who handles permitting?
Some projects may require a permit, depending on the scope of the project and the body of water involved. The Dock Doctors® have several years of experience working with many of the State, Town, and Local agencies to obtain these permits for you.
What if I need my product removed and installed seasonally?
No problem, we offer seasonal services on our products throughout the entire Northeast.
