What style of dock is best for my site?
There are many factors to consider when choosing a dock. Here are some things to consider:
- Location specifics (protected, semi-protected, exposed)
- Lake bottom contour (gradual versus steep, rocky versus sandy versus mucky)
- Water level fluctuation (will you need to adjust dock height or position)
- Boating / Paddlesports / Swimming and other activities
- Ease of seasonal install / removal
- Local restrictions (permanent vs. seasonal)

How do I get an estimate or proposal?
We often can provide an estimate based on the information obtained from our quote request and a follow up conversation about your project.
How far in advance should I plan my project?
Our stock products are readily available for pick up, delivery, or delivery with installation. Custom projects should be planned well in advance. Time frames are affected by several factors, including product demand, permitting, manufacturing, service, and weather conditions. Please contact us for more details.
Can I pick up items at your showroom?
Yes! When checking out, choose “Pick up at Vermont Showroom” as your shipping option. You can also stop by or Ferrisburgh, VT showroom during business hours and one of our sales staff will help you.
Please Note: Dock replacement parts and some accessories are ready for immediate pickup in our showroom, however dock systems require a few days notice to prepare for pickup. Please contact us ahead to arrange a day and time for pickup.
Can you deliver the docks to me?
YES! We offer curbside delivery within the Northeast (as well as local pickup and delivery with installation). You can read more about the different options here.
What is your delivery area?
If you are located in the Northeast, we offer free curbside delivery or we will pay you to pick up your order. (Minimum purchase amount of $2,000 to qualify for Free Delivery.) Please see full details here.
What if I need the product installed?
Yes! We have a service installation staff of approximately 20 employees with a variety of skills and background and are equipped to cover the entire Northeast with our products and services.
Why should I order from The Dock Doctors® instead of my local dock dealer?
When working with The Dock Doctors on your waterfront project, you are working directly with the company who designs, manufactures and installs all of our own products. Most of our local competitors are re-selling a brand.
Do you provide site visits?
In most cases we try to provide a preliminary cost estimate prior to visiting your site. However, there are situations that require a site visit in order to determine your needs prior to providing an estimate or proposal.
Who handles permitting?
Some projects may require a permit, depending on the scope of the project and the body of water involved. The Dock Doctors® have several years of experience working with many of the State, Town, and Federal agencies to obtain these permits for you.

How long does it take for my order to ship?
The majority of the items displayed on this site will ship within 2-5 business days, unless noted that the product is back-ordered. All items will ship from our manufacturing plant in Ferrisburgh, Vermont, USA.
What are the shipping costs?
For a shipping cost, please add the item to your cart to calculate shipping to your location. Some products are too large to ship UPS and need to be via truck or delivered locally. Do you have a return policy?
Cancellation & Return Policy:
We have a 20% restocking fee on any canceled or returned stock order. Refunds are not available on custom orders. Customer is responsible for shipping of the product back to our facility in Ferrisburgh, Vermont. The product must be received in new condition – if the product is damaged or used, no refund will be provided. Please contact us for a return authorization prior to sending your return.
What should I do if my packages arrive with damage from shipping?
In the unlikely event of your packages arrive damaged, please do NOT refuse delivery as this will delay the claim process. Please follow these steps:
- Note damaged or open on the delivery receipt.
- Immediately advise UPS of damage and request carrier inspection.
- Save all boxes and packing material for inspection.
