Details
Choosing the decking for your new dock system is an important choice, and there are many factors to consider – maintenance, cost, color and personal style preferences.
PLEASE NOTE: Screens display color differently so please be aware that the actual decking color may appear to be slightly different in person than what you see on your computer or phone screen. Please contact us if you would like a swatch.
CEDAR
Cedar is a natural decking option that is naturally resistant to decay and insects. We use STK Western Red Cedar (Select Tight Knot Grade or Number 2). It is generally regarded as a high-quality choice for cedar, and any knots present are sound encased and tight. The wood is generally straight-grained and has a uniform, but rather coarse texture.
CONS: Over time, cedar will absorb moisture and weather to a soft silvery gray unless sealed with a preserving stain.
WEARDECK
WearDeck™ is a high density polyethylene resin with UV inhibitors. It is rated for ground and underwater contact and will not support mold or mildew growth. WearDeck’s 5/4″ thick deck board is rated to span joists 24″ on center with the highest live load capacity in the industry. Made in the USA and offers a limited lifetime residential warranty and 25 year commercial warranty. Stocked in 3 colors, with special order colors available. The colors Barefoot Grey and Barefoot Sand reflect the sun’s rays off the surface of the board and reduce surface temperature by at least 30%. CONS: Not a natural wood.

Can I pick this up at your showroom?
Yes! When checking out, choose “pickup” as your shipping option. Both aluminum frame and galvanized steel frame pond docks are available for pickup. Please wait for our confirmation that your order is ready for pickup, as prepping the order can take a few days during busy times of the year.
Can I have the pond dock delivered?
Yes! We delivery within our local area (the Northeast). Please see our Local Delivery page (link at bottom of website) for more information and rates.
Does it include a ladder?
Our pond docks do not include a ladder, but we offer 3 sizes of aluminum ladders which can be added to the end or side of your pond dock.
