Proper mounting is critical to the correct operation and the safety of the user. You will need 2 inches (2”) of clearance between the mounting plate on the launch mount and your seawall, dock or other mounting surface. You will need mounting hardware (qty 4, not included) to mount the launch mount to your surface. The fasteners should not be less than 1/2” diameter and a high grade 316 Stainless steel. If you are mounting to a concrete seawall we offer a mounting kit for this application.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does shipping cost?
The Kayak Lift ships FREE within the continental USA via UPS ground. Additional items or optional items will have standard UPS shipping costs. For orders outside the 48 US states, please contact us for a shipping cost.
How do I mount this to my dock or seawall?
Your Kayak Lift & Launch must be installed on a level/flat surface, and will need 2 inches (2”) of clearance between the mounting plate on the launch mount and your seawall, dock or other mounting surface. If
your location slopes more than 2” towards the water, you will need to find an alternate mounting location.
CAUTION: Based on the design of this product, it is critical that the structure that it attaches to is substantial enough to carry the cantilevered weight of the lift, paddle craft and occupant – there is no support from the ground. Do not mount to rotten wood, crumbling concrete or other insecure surface, the lift could fail resulting in potential bodily injury and/or property damage.
Is assembly required?
Yes, please see assembly instructions above. Many customers have found a local boat lift company or handyman to install the lift for them.

We just retired to a lake and one of our first purchases was a tandem kayak. It’s a super kayak but it is large and therefore a challenge for two getting-up-there-in-age people to get it in and out of the water. With this lift it is possible for just one of us the launch the tandem and we can leave it on the lift so it is always ready to go. The boarding handle adds a lot of stability when standing to get in and out— something we appreciate now and will appreciate even more over the years. Note: At first we thought we could install the lift ourselves but decided it was a little too complicated and unwieldy for us so we hired some guys who build docks and bulkheads to put it in and to make sure it was done right. They reinforced under the dock and got the lift installed much faster than we could have done. Bethany at DockDoctors was extremely helpful throughout our purchase and install. We emailed her a couple of times and she was very responsive. I would give their customer service 5 stars as well. (And customer service is just as important to me as any product.). This lift would definitely make launching any kayak or canoe easier. If you are older or have parents who are up there and still want to kayak this is a great way to make it easier. Cheers

I just want to say WOW! This is an amazing Kayak launch system. I installed it myself on our canal seawall. I also purchased the 2 Kayak rack and I couldn’t be happier. My wife has balance issues from a back injury and with this set up she can move the Kayak off the rack and slide it right on to the lift. She can lower it down to the water get in and off she goes. She is so happy to have a way to get her Kayak in the water all by herself when ever she wants. So glad I found this system and it was worth every penny. Thanks so much!!! – J.D.

It is TERRIFIC! My husband who is 74 years old can now use the kayak. I can even use it for my paddleboard, if I want. We purchased the lower Kayak Launch (dock-mounted) – and we did have to reinforce the dock boards to mount (every dock situation is different). Use Hint: For someone who does not have the flexibility or leg strength to go from a kayak-leg-extended-extended-sitting position to a standing position, replace the bungee cords with rope, and a loop to hook onto the kayak launch outer bar hooks‚ and VOILA, works just fine and Kayak stays put with dismounting! My husband is so happy to be able to kayak with me again, while I paddleboard. Thank you for giving us something back!!! – J.J.
